Training Program on Pipeline Corrosion

AMPP India Chapter organized three Educational & Training Programme on “Pipeline Corrosion” from 18 – 20 January 2024 at Hotel Rodas, Hiranandani, Powai, Mumbai.

The pipeline Corrosion training programme covers various aspects of pipeline corrosion and methods available for corrosion prevention and control. The intention is to arm pipeline personnel with sufficient knowledge of pipeline corrosion to maintain the integrity of pipelines.

The program covered Introduction to Pipeline Corrosion & its Prevention/ Control, Galvanic Anode & Impressed Current Cathodic Protection Systems, AC/DC Interference & Mitigation or New Technology in P/L, Tests/ Measurements/ Surveys, Pipeline Internal Corrosion Prevention, Selection & Application of Corrosion Protection Coatings, Basic of Pigging technology and its uses, Pipeline Construction management and link to Corrosion Prospective, Pipeline Internal Corrosion Monitoring and New Trends and Technologies for Pipeline Industry & Case Studies.

The inaugural session was attended by Mr. Urvesh Vala, Prof V S Raja and Mr. K Shashidhar. Mr. Urvesh Vala, Member-at-Large, AMPP India Chapter inaugurated the training program and welcomed all the participants & faculty members. Dr. Anand K Tewari, Chairman, AMPP India Chapter also briefed about Chapter activities.

The companies which participated in this training program were Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited, Oil India Limited, Shell Energy India Pvt. Ltd, De Nora India Ltd., Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Green Gas Limited, Shell India Markets Pvt. Ltd., Reliance Industries Ltd., Bharat - Kochi Refinery, Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd., Numaligarh Refinery Limited, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., IndianOil Adani Ventures Limited, Zuari IAV Private Ltd., Reliance Industries Ltd., Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Sabarmati Gas Limited and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd etc.

The faculties for the training program were eminent professionals from industry and academicians including Prof V S Raja, Mr. Pankaj Panchal, Mr. K Shashidhar, Mr. K B Singh, Dr. Anand K Tewari, Mr. Vijay Aggarwal, Mr. Sandeep Vyas, Mr. Amish Gandhi and Mr. Sandeep Vyas. The training program was conducted by Mr. Rishikesh Mishra.

Mr. Harsh Zala, Secretary, AMPP India Chapter provided the vote of thanks during the open-forum discussion and distributed certificates to the participants. The training program had a stupendous success and received high appreciation from participants. The next training program on Pipeline Corrosion will be 20 – 22 June 2024.
