Teach and Thrive: How Hosting AMPP Courses Can Strengthen Your Chapter

    November 25, 2025 Lydia Prazak

Hosting an AMPP course is one of the most impactful things your chapter can do—not just for revenue, but for community engagement and professional growth.

Whether you’re looking to offer value to members, raise your chapter’s visibility, or build financial momentum, course hosting allows you to do it all. Even if you’ve never offered a course before, the process is simple—and AMPP gives you all the tools you need to succeed.

Here’s what hosting a course looks like and why it’s worth exploring for your chapter.

    Why Host a Course?

Members join AMPP to grow their careers, gain certifications, and stay current in the industry. By hosting a course locally, your chapter becomes a hub for that development—and earns revenue at the same time.

    Benefits to Your Chapter:

    • Provide Value: Attendees earn PDHs and CEUs to support certification and career advancement.
    • Generate Revenue: Depending on the format, chapters can keep up to 100% of the proceeds.
    • Build Community: Courses bring professionals together, enhance your local reputation, and create networking opportunities.

Example: A chapter can host a half-day promotional course and used the proceeds to create a local scholarship.

What Kind of Courses Can You Host?

There are four main types of AMPP courses chapters can host. Each one offers different levels of responsibility, revenue potential, and audience size.

What Can You Do with Course Revenue

Hosting a course is not just about breaking even—it can create real momentum. Here are a few ways chapters use their revenue:

    • Fund scholarships for students or young professionals
    • Purchase chapter signage, banners, or promotional materials
    • Cover speaker costs or hybrid meeting equipment
    • Offer free admission to future events for targeted audiences
    • Build a reserve fund for future programming

Remember: Even one successful course can fund your chapter’s next big idea.
