The first AMPP Mexico Chapter Member Meeting

On June 15 at 6:30 p.m., the first meeting of members of the AMPP chapter in Mexico was held at the British Embassy in Mexico City. Nearly 50 attendees, including members and guests, came to the meeting.

Welcome to the British Embassy
Attendees had the opportunity to listen to the welcome message that was given by Hector Luna Head of Energy and Infrastructure of the British Embassy who highlighted the importance of corrosion prevention and control in Mexico's energy sector.

AMPP Member Benefits & Activities
Next, the chapter board of directors represented by Gustavo Adolfo Romero Urdaneta Chair, Alejandro Lagler ViceChair and Maritza Paola López Jiménez Secretary/Treasurer presented the benefits of being a member, and also presented the next planned activities that include: the E-4 AMPP Symposium which will be developed within the framework of the 31st edition of the International Congress of Materials Research (IMCR2023) from August 13 to 18 in the city of Cancun, Quintana Roo and the Seminar on Integrity and Corrosion Management (IMCORRS) planned for the second week of October in the city of Villahermosa, Tabasco.

Technical Talk
As a value proposition, José Padilla of Coating Consulting spoke about "Lessons Learned in Pipe Coatings" where he highlighted, among other points, the importance of quality control from baking, supervision during the execution phase and subsequent release by qualified and certified personnel in surface preparation and coating application systems. José was able to expose different cases of failures in different types of coating systems and at the same time presented the possible root causes and their respective solution proposals.



Cocktail & Networking
Finally, at night, attendees were able to enjoy a series of sandwiches and desserts accompanied by drinks and cocktails that allowed an atmosphere to generate contact, camaraderie and technical and commercial exchange of all members and guests.

The next meeting of members of the AMPP chapter in Mexico is planned for October during IMCORRS.
