Cooperation Agreement Signed between Panamanian Society of Engineers and Architects and AMPP

Recently, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Panamanian Society of Engineers and Architects (SPIA), an influential body of professionals and engineers in Panama that has the responsibility of advising the Panamanian Government on all aspects of Engineering Standards and Best Practices related to all phases of asset life (design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance), and AMPP, The Association for Materials Protection and Performance.

The agreement was signed by the President of SPIA, Rutilio Villareal accompanied by Arturo Sucre, SPIA Controller and AMPP Global Center Board of Director Juan Caballero, who initiated the new relationship between AMPP and SPIA.  AMPP was represented by AMPP Chair Sam Scaturro and AMPP Global Center Cris Conner. For the signing ceremony, nearly all members of AMPP’s Board of Directors were present to signify the importance of this agreement.

“We are so pleased to establish this relationship between SPIA and AMPP!  It will provide great resources to the Central American region and to expand knowledge and understanding around the world,” said AMPP’s Sam Scaturro.

 

AMPP and SPIA share a common mission to improve the performance of materials to protect society, assets and the environment, especially when applying proper materials through design, implementing adequate construction and maintenance standards and procedures and ensuring the best up-to-date information is available to all members on materials protection and performance through seminars, training and networking opportunities.
